So the brother takes over the Bride!

There is a weird news on MSNBC (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18389704/)
A groom showed up drunk at his wedding in India, and the bride’s family and local villagers chased him away.  But the wedding has been paid for, and the gifts cannot be retunred–so the brave (or maybe lucky?) brother of the drunkard stepped in and took over the girl.
     Here are my theories:
#1: the bride is painful to watch, the groom has to get drunk to get throug the wedding (comedy)
#2: the groom is secretly in love with someone else (a woman, a man, or other creatures) (tragedy/comedy)
#3: the bride is secretly in love with someone else (a woman, a man, or other creatures), and the groom knows (tragedy/comedy)
#4: this is a pratical joke planned by the groom and bride, but then things went out of their hands, and the poor girl now has to marry someone related to her lover (a potential comedy)
#5: the brother is in love with the bride, and the groom being a good brother decided to step aside.  And this is the only way to get out of the marriage without hurting the bride’s reputation.  (a potential romantic tragedy)

My list can go on and on.
And I need a photo of the three to decide which theory I will put my money on.
